Bitter End - Live and new EP

Deathwish Records is putting out some live records (Converge, Blacklisted, Pulling Teeth) and the last one was the Bitter End show at Sound & Fury 2007, you can download it here and it's legal. BITTER END - Live S&F'07

Bitter End also released a new 7" last month, through Deathwish and it's worth to give it a listen. They're still playing this kind of powerfull NYHC ala Agnostic Front, Leeway and the Mags of course mixed with some metallic influences. 2 songs on this new record if you except the intro, both last more than 4 minutes and are kind of epic.

"
Running a race against time / Living life not my only crime / Sins of the past coming to bite me back / A circle of pain / An endless track.

Face to face with consequences / Gotta fix the wrong / Seeing the error in my ways / Placed here for a reason / I need to make due and not waste away / Find a path in the darkness out of this purgatory."

Ieper Fest "Sun"day report.

Finally. I made it, i went to Ieper for the first time of my life to attend one of the biggest hardcore punk (metal???) independent (???) events of the summer.
I missed Rhythm To The Madness (feat ex or current members of Justice, Rise and Fall, Think It Through) and some crappy metal shit (Cephalic Carnage, Folsom, Despised Icon). Endzweck were not that good, shitty sound...
Shipwreck (AD) played and that was really better than the first time i saw them , in December. They ended their set with Footsteps, massive.
I can't remember which band came after but Verse played a really tight show mixing new songs and some old ones (not that much from the first album and that was pretty disappointing). The crowd was singing under the rain. They improved a lot since the first time I saw them in 2005 (they had the original drummer on this tour) and i really appreciate Sean's way of sing on stage. This guy seems to fly over the stage.
Have Heat came next, and i was really disappointed. The singer, which is pretty good on records, sucks live. I alsp expected some old songs from both demo and 'What Counts' 7" like 'Lionheart'.

HAVE HEART - What Counts

Rise and Fall were huge as usual mixing some Entombed death'n roll style with Cleveland influences. I can't wait for their next record which
The Locust were boring. I just can't understand that kind of music...
I don't think i'll come back to this fest, the disrespectful attitude of some people was discouraging: amounts of garbage , drunk people everywhere .... That's not what I expect from that kind of festival. But i've to admit that the vegan burgers and cookies were great ahah.

CRAP CRAP CRAP

YES, i'm the crapiest blogger ever. I'm the laziest guy ever too.
(and it's the third post that says " i suck"). Things went fast: new job, new opportunities, new friends so i didn't get enough time to set this blog up and post new shit.

But things are going to change. Expect some new reviews and reports soon (Ieper Fest, Free Edge fest and summer shows in Paris). Interviews are the way too. (Dirty Money/Grand Master Beatdown for exemple).

Peace
A.

Wow.

I haven't posted any message for a long time........
I apologize but things went pretty bad these few last weeks: work, family problems etc. So i couldn't get committed to any blog update.
But things are going better now and i've still this motivation to post some shitty reviews and reports.

With a friend, we definitely decided to start a fanzine so keep your eyes open.
Peace.

Cruel Hand vs Miles Away

Last week end I was in Barcelona chillin' with some dudes from Toulouse, and they were booking a show for Miles Away, Cruel Hand, both melodix hardcore bands This is A Standoff and Actionmen and the first show ever for A Bridge To Many, the local support for this night. A Bridge To Many started the show, playing their first concert ever and I had a blast: this 15 year old drummer is gonna be huge. They play some fast hardcore with melodic parts like Carry On, Count Me Out, American Nightmare (they covered AM/PM for the pleasure of some chosen few) or Another Breath. And it went good. Can't wait to have some tracks on a demo.

Then, Actionmen played. I saw them last summer in Toulouse and the surprise effect wasn't the same this time but they are really good at what they do. Cruel Hand and Miles away dudes were stoked seeing this "musical"/theater play .

Following up next, This Is A Standoff features ex members of Belvedere. Ok.
I didn't get that much into the melodies and the whole thing was just boring.
Co headlining the show, Cruel Hand, coming straight from Maine-USA, just settle the score. They feature some Outbreak members. Raw, fast and aggressive hardcore, really well played (the drummer is awesome) and they ended with Cro-Mags' World Peace. MASSIVE.

Then, Miles Away played. I expected some modernfag hardcore but their set is pretty straight forward and agressive. They definitely have a good attitude on stage and covered Count Me Out and Floorpunch.
The dudes in Cruel Hand and Miles Away are really good ppl and I can only encourage you to support them.
